The new Erasmus+ project VET4BioECONOMY (Innovative VET for key competences in the emerging field of forest bioeconomy) project arose shortly after the CIA2SFM project finished. This 3-year strategic partnership consists of 7 partners from Austria, Croatia and Slovenia, of which 6 are the same as in CIA2SFM project.
Partners aim to provide key competences in forest bioeconomy to forestry related professionals and to increase the current base of vocational education and training (VET) programmes with innovative and comprehensive forest bioeconomy training programme. Although forest based bioeconomy becomes one of the guiding paradigms for the forest-based sector, and is of strategic importance for EU, there is a lack of educational opportunities in VET and lifelong learning for this topic.
Hence, this project offers a unique forest bioeconomy curriculum and e-course, which will ensure comprehensive knowledge and key competences in forest bioeconomy for forestry and wood processing professionals, and be in line with the policy priorities defined in the EU strategies. Multimedia e-learning content will be freely available in English, Croatian, German and Slovenian languages and will provide good practice examples for bioeconomy management, from sustainable wood resources management to high value products and services.
The project is coordinated by Croatian Forest Research Institute and granted with 196.378 EUR.
